Accounts Assistant (Maternity Cover)

A leading manufacturer on the outskirts of Reading is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join them as soon as possible to cover Maternity leave. This a fantastic organisation to work for with a dynamic working environment and brilliant team of people.

The main purpose of this role is to assist the Finance team with a broad spectrum of accounting duties including:

  • Process customer accounts
  • Raise and process all sales and purchase invoices
  • Liaise with external clients should any queries arise
  • Maintain the purchase ledger
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs
  • Ensure all pricing and financial data is up to date on the internal system
  • Assist with VAT returns

Experience required:

  • Payroll experience would be highly advantageous
  • Confident communicator both verbally and written
  • Highly numerate
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised and pro-active
  • Team player and happy to help the wider team
  • Previous experience using SAGE is also advantageous
