Does your employer go beyond your expectations?

Consider experiencing #lifeatBW

We are proud to be a leading independent UK consultancy at the forefront of risk, pensions, investment and insurance and have recently reached just over 1000 employees spread over 8 offices.

The Pension Administration business was established in 1993 and our core business is the provision of services to trustees of UK occupational pension schemes. These services include cash handling and preparing draft accounts as well as benefit administration, payroll, scheme governance, data audits and data cleansing and much more.

Due to continued growth across our business, we are delighted to have created a new position within our Pension Fund Accounting team in Cheltenham.

In an ideal world you’ll have experience with the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of accounting and bank records but this isn't essential as we'll train you.

If you have some accounts experience under your belt already then we're keen to hear from you. Alternatively, if you've gone straight from school or university to complete an accounts course such as AAT, we're also interested as this could provide a great start to your accounting career.

If you've assisted with audit work, then this would be also useful as you will be liaising with auditors, clients and third parties in relation to the schemes you are working on.

Once established in your position, you will assist with the preparation of statutory financial reports for trustees so if you've had some exposure to financial reporting this would be useful.

Do you have excellent attention to detail and strong communications skills?

Are you driven by client satisfaction and motivated to building and maintain strong relationships both with clients, and with team members?

Are you hungry to develop new skills and enjoy a challenge?

Does the opportunity to work towards a professional qualification excite you?

If the answer is yes, we would love to hear from you!

To be considered you will have GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C /4 in Maths and English but we'd prefer it if you were also studying towards a qualification such as AAT or perhaps you've passed already.

You will also have a strong working ability with MS Office and in particular Excel, Word and Outlook.

What We Offer

  • A highly competitive benefits package, which includes a non-contributory pension (we'll contribute 6% of your salary for the first year and 7.5% thereafter), 25 days annual leave with the ability to buy or sell up to another 5 days per year, a discretionary annual bonus plus many flexible benefits you can opt in or out of
  • The opportunity to progress - our plans at BW are to continue our growth strategy and we'd like to take our employees on this journey. When you feel ready to take on more responsibility or would like to try something different, we'll do our best to support you in this - all our vacancies are advertised internally
  • An environment that is supportive and enabling - we want you to be productive and happy during the time you spend at work
