We’re recruiting for a very successful Chartered Accountancy practice, keen to bring in a bright graduate in a fully supported ACA trainee role. This highly desirable opportunity will offer the successful candidate a formal training contract that will see them progress from grad to qualified accountant in a few short years.
This job would suit either a recent or upcoming grad keen to start a career in accounting, or a grad with a year or two of work experience looking to take a step into (or up in) accountancy.
As you progress, this varied and challenging role will offer exposure to all aspects of general accounting including:
Preparation of accounts, working papers and maintenance of client files for sole traders, partnerships and small limited company clients.
Bookkeeping and maintenance of client records on a range of accounting packages, including sales and purchase invoice controls, receipts and payment analysis, bank reconciliations and VAT reconciliations.
VAT returns and personal taxation, completion of Self-Assessment Tax Returns, Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax work as well as completion of Corporation Tax Returns.
Audit work, both on and off site.
Also a range of client correspondence duties and general accounts office administration.
The successful candidate will be degree educated (minimum 2:1), ideally in Accounting or alternatively in a Numerical or Science discipline, with an excellent grasp of Maths and English (A Level maths desirable). You will be well presented with confident interpersonal skills, able to liaise with colleagues and clients alike both verbally and in writing. You will have an enquiring and analytical mind and be highly attentive to detail. Additionally you will be an experienced IT user (MS Office essential, Sage and / or Pegasus beneficial).
This is a permanent role offering a starting salary between £20-23,000 (depending on experience) plus full ACA sponsorship / training including day release through to ACA qualification, plus 23 days holidays rising to 25, life assurance and a joint contributory pension.
