An exciting opportunity for an Accountant in Edinburgh responsible for Investment reporting

Hays Senior Finance are working with a leading Investment Management organisation to recruit a Qualified Accountant within the Finance team. Our client are a growing financial business which has undergone expansion across their investments portfolio over the last 2 years and this role will facilitate financial reporting requirements across the group.
Your new role
Based in Edinburgh, you will report on the businesses assets and will generate, analyse and provide commentary to the financial reporting team to enable them to produce the financial accounts. Your role will be to evaluate variations in valuations processes, look for ways to improve and automate financial reporting procedures and will have technical knowledge across IFRS. In addition to month end and business as usual processes, you will also be responsible for supporting projects including on-boarding of new investments within the portfolio.
This role is wide ranging and has a lot of interesting components within the Asset Reporting and Analysis Team. The team are responsible for different aspects of monthly and quarterly investment data reporting, collation of information for quarterly IFRS and SII reporting and ad hoc project work. You will oversee/review processing and reconciliation of monthly investment ledger data Quarterly investment reporting to the Financial Reporting Team and production of movement table and other investment analysis for IFRS reporting. You will also be involved in the production of SII Balance Sheet and reconciliation to IFRS Balance Sheet for Group Reporting ensuring processes appropriately performed in accordance with SOX requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant with an interest in developing your understanding around IFRS and solvency II and to further support external financial reporting requirements. This role would be suited to candidates who are in a similar role or are looking to move from practice into industry.
