A bright and "hands on" Accountant is being sought to work in a busy and Multi-tasking role within a prestigious and well-respected business based in the Shaftesbury area. This newly created role reports to the Financial Control and forms and integral part of the Finance team. On offer is a generous annual salary and a role with plenty of candidate led development and the chance to grow with a successful business. The hours for the position are 9-5 Monday to Friday and there is on-site parking available.

This position will provide support to the Financial Controller and the wider finance team in the construction of management accounts, audit preparation and the day to day transactional elements involved. Responsibilities to include:

  • Monthly Management Accounts
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with audit preparation
  • Budgeting and projections
  • Cashflow forecast
  • Assisting and Supporting the Purchase Ledger and Sale Ledger functions
  • Prepayments and Accruals
  • Financial Analysis to support commercial decision-making processes
  • Additional ad hoc duties to support the wider team

This role would be well suited to an experienced Accountant who has previously held and has working knowledge of the responsibilities above. Due to the variety of tasks in this role this may be a good fit for an accountant who has progressed to a senior role in a larger business having seen the transactional elements as part of their development or an Accountant who has worked with a smaller to medium sized business for a number of years and has an understanding of all of the processes involved in the construction of financial and management accounts.

It is important that the successful candidate is commercially aware and able to apply their accounting knowledge to work proactively and off their own initiative without instruction. Having a meticulous nature and high attention to detail with the ability to "self-audit" your work, along with excellent Excel skills to provide relevant analysis to support future commercial decisions for the business are essential. Ideally the successful candidate will be studying towards or have gained their ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification however qualified by experience will be considered.
