This is a fantastic opportunity for an Account Manager to really make a difference working across a number of sectors and customers to deliver growth of sales and successful management of their accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create strategy for building relationships with identified customers
  • Monthly reporting on sales increase from current customers against targets
  • Monthly reporting on relationship activities, new product development results and newly identified opportunities
  • Reduce recurring complaints by working with customer and internal teams
  • Develop and manage relationship building opportunities such as an events calendar and charity engagement opportunities for identified sector
  • Develop and manage new communication channels and social media opportunities with customers
  • The day-to-day management of clients’ accounts
  • Pro-active leadership that encourages teams to perform to the best of their ability
  • Reduction of customer churn on managed customers


  • Regular communication and liaison with clients and management
  • Generating accurate reports and internal communications
  • Pitching fresh and innovative ideas to clients
  • Completing projects to a specific schedule and within an agreed budget
  • Managing projects internally to deliver all opportunities successfully with the client
  • Using your knowledge and skills to push clients, the team and the agency in the most productive direction
  • Maintain and develop existing customers through planned individual account support
  • Increase sales from current customers and report monthly on changes in sales
  • Manage any complaints from customers and react quickly and professionally to keep the customer happy
  • Reduce churn of customers through relationship development
  • Monitor and report monthly on activities and provide relevant sales information against targets
  • Liaise and attend meetings with teams necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development
  • On-going product knowledge training
  • Understand what is happening in the market by on-going competitor research, reading trade press and obtaining information from customers
  • Research into the food sector to identify trends and opportunities to ensure complete knowledge of the industry
  • Share knowledge on current trends, restaurant openings and awards with relevant internal team
  • Work with the NPD team to meet any customer demands for new products

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Increase in sales for allocated existing customers
  • Customer satisfaction of managed existing customers
  • Reduction in churn from existing customer
  • Project management and launch success’

Person Specification:

  • Thorough understanding of the restaurant and food sector in London
  • Passion for food and the food industry
  • Excellent telephone manner, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Effective team management capabilities
  • Good analytical skills and use of Excel
  • Friendly, charismatic, personable and out going
  • Customer focused
  • Has or can develop networks within the industry and utilise them
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Ability to develop and maintain internal relationships
  • The ability to plan and develop strategies at a senior level
  • Has a persuasive and confident approach to creative projects
  • Has a keen attention to detail and budgetary restraints
  • Willingness to note relevant trends and develop ideas
  • Ability to work as an authoritative figure in a busy team

This is an office based role that will require you to spend time in meetings and briefings, along with time out on the field visiting and staying in close contact with clients. It can be demanding and fast paced, so real motivation is required to thrive.

Working hours:

Monday-Friday 9am-5pm 40 hours per week
