Account Manager

I’m currently working with a fantastic manufacturer of globally recognised FMCG products. They have over 40 years’ experience and have great reputation across their sector.

As part of their continued success, they are looking to recruit an Account Manager to manage and develop assigned accounts cross site to maximise customer satisfaction and develop business across a range of products:

Key Responsbilities:

  • To develop best practice across the Account Manager function, providing leadership, motivation, support and mentoring as and where appropriate for designated personnel
  • Work with the Sales Director to enhance and develop business improvement projects to deliver service excellence and deliver on the strategic roadmap taking initiative where appropriate
  • Work closely with the Technical and Operational Teams to understand how on-going investment can complement and improve customers product ranges
  • Lead and manage Value Engineering Projects
  • Lead on behalf on the Sales Director specified projects across the departments and cross site as required for example Red Status Production Reviews, Sales Meetings, AV Reviews
  • Work with the demand team to review OTIF and Service Excellence
  • Work with the Sales Director to identify new opportunities for existing business within new and existing ranges ensuring sustainable, profitable customer growth
  • Creation of 3 year strategic business plans to identify and develop sales strategy for given accounts, to be reviewed on a monthly basis to track against forecast / budget
  • Regularly meet with assigned Customers’ and ensure a high level of interaction and visibility with the customer
  • Responsible for hosting customer visits and site tours
  • Carry out price reviews, negotiating and providing quotes to customer base
  • Lead and manage annual cost reviews for given customer base

Essential experience:

  • FMCG/Healthcare/Pharmaceutical background

Ideally with experience in manufacture/sub-contracting

  • Account Management - able to manage external customers and internally to serve customers
  • Commercially numerate relating to costings and understanding impact on profits

Desirable experience:

  • Food science qualification
  • Regulatory experience
  • Vitamin, Mineral and Supplement experience

This is a fantastic opportuning for a proven account manager to join a great business with a great reputation. Although there will be customer visits, the role will be predominantly office based with the occasional need to travel off site. The basic salary for the role is up to £40,000 and the role comes with a bonus scheme, car allowance, cash back health care plan and range of other benefits.
