Account Director Medical Communications

A leading global MedComms agency is looking for a meetings-focused Account Director to assume responsibility for a busy 3million+ diabetes account; supporting clients, line managing junior colleagues and making proactive and confident decisions with regards to project decisions, budgets and timelines.
You will be utilising effective project management skills to manage timelines and drive all account processes so experience and confidence in problem solving and managing internal and external collaborators is key. You will have experience in client management and will provide updates and strategic guidance as required whilst also identifying and developing business opportunities within new and existing accounts. This is an exceptionally meetings-focused role so experience working with medical communication events, meetings and symposia is vital.
Strong account handling experience within a Medical Communications agency is key, as is an understanding of local and international regulations and skills in new business development with proven ability to build and develop lasting client relationships. Excellent organisational skills and a strong attention to detail is crucial as is a strong life sciences background. The client would like to see CVs from established Account Directors but would also be open to seeing experienced Senior Account Managers looking to move into an AD role.

Role / Description
Main Job Responsibilities:
Take ultimate responsibility for the health of assigned account.
Manage the preparation, development and implementation of communications events.
Build, develop and maintain relationships with client teams.
Provide strategic guidance to clients and senior team.
Lead new business activities and support business development.
Reviews and finalises business and budgeting plans.
Takes responsibility for the professional development of line reports.
Manage and adapt budgets, finances and timelines as required.
Life Sciences degree (BSc or higher).
Already be an Account Director or experienced Senior Account Manager (SAM) in a Medical Communications agency.
Proven project management and strategic skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
Effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Proven business development skills.
Strong attention to detail and high organizational skills.
Advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
Experience of working well under pressure.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations with experience of working to ABPI.
High level of organisation and time-management.
Pro-active and enthusiastic.
