An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Access to Mental Wellbeing Services team (AMWS) for a proactive and enthusiastic band 5 Mental Health Nurse / Occupational Therapist /Higher Assistant Psychologist.
The AMWS team receives all referrals into mental health services for the York and Selby locality. People who are referred to the team receive an initial assessment where indicated. Upon completion of an assessment the team is able to offer up to 6 sessions of brief intervention dependent upon clinical need. The team is also forging links with third sector and partner agencies and is developing joint provision of interventions with these agencies.
The service is open 8am – 6pm, 5 days per week with the exception of Bank Holidays. Assessments and interventions are offered Monday to Friday.
As a band 5 clinician the successful applicant will be involved delivering high quality brief interventions for a range of mental health conditions. The clinician will provide up to 6 sessions of focused intervention in both a 1:1 and group setting.
This is an expanding and developing service. As such, band 5 clinicians within the team work alongside the other team members to evaluate and develop the range of therapeutic interventions offered by the service following initial assessment. This includes supporting the development and review of frameworks of interventions for common mental health issues that can be provided as a brief intervention both on an individual and group basis.
The successful applicant will be proactive and solution focused in their work. Ideally they will have experience of working in a range of clinical environments. They will be able to evidence working flexibly around the needs of the service and it’s service users.
