CAF is one of the international market leaders in the design, manufacture, maintenance and supply of equipment and components for rail systems with presence across the globe in all continents. In the UK market we are present for more than a decade and now we are expanding exponentially through a corporate holding and two differentiated business units: rolling stock and rail services. CAF Rolling Stock UK, Ltd will open mid-2018 an assembly facility in Newport (Wales), with a workforce of around 200 staff.

Reporting to the Quality and Systems Department in the UK, the Acceptance Quality Manager will be based in Newport (Wales).  


DUTIES AND RESPONSABILTIES

Implementing the Inspection and Test Plan for incoming goods established specifically for each project and each type of material, with particular focus on inspecting elements that are critical for safety and performing FAIs (first article inspections)

Defining and implementing the Calibration Plan for Work Tools and Inspection, Measuring and Testing Equipment available in the plant

Properly maintaining the Quality Documentation in digital files (supplier certificates, calibration certificates)

Managing Incidents and Nonconformities related to items supplied by Suppliers (NCs)

Monitoring and approving changes to be implemented by Suppliers (modifications)

Essential

BEng, Level 6 of NQF / QCF

Essential

Extensive experience in a Quality Management role within the rail sector.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 standard, IRIS standard and technical regulations applicable to the rail sector (EN, BS).

Knowledge of quality tools (e.g. root cause analysis).

Client-orientation.

Excellent IT skills including experience of Microsoft packages including Excel.

Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

Able to maintain accurate records.

Able to work flexibly across a broad range of activities as the role evolves.

Able to respond and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced pressured environment.

Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

Flexibility to travel regularly in the UK.

Able to travel occasionally to HQ in Spain
