ABF UK Grocery Graduate Scheme

Degree: Minimum 2:2 degree for Supply Chain, Procurement & Engineering, 2:1 for Customer Development, Marketing & HR. We accept applications from any degree for most of our graduate schemes.
Salary: £31,500 Plus £1500 Starting Salary
Location: Flexible to travel/relocate
Start Date: 17th September 2018

We recruit 20-25 graduates each year into our Grocery division, which comprises eight consumer-facing businesses that manufacture and market a variety of well-known brands both nationally and internationally. The businesses have developed an enviable portfolio of leading grocery brands, such as Jordans cereals, Patak’s curry pastes, Kingsmill bread, Ryvita crispbread, Silver Spoon sugar, Twinings tea and many more! We’ve also recently acquired two fantastic sports nutrition brands; High 5 and Reflex Nutrition, further broadening the categories in which we operate.

The Graduate Schemes

All of our graduate schemes are designed to give you relevant experience and the stretch to become one of our future leaders. We have 7 different graduate programmes available:

  • Supply Chain & Operations
  • Customer Development
  • Engineering
  • Marketing
  • Procurement
  • Human Resources (HR)

We only take a select number of graduates every year as we believe in giving you the visibility, responsibility and focused support to grow your career with us. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects from day one, and plenty of support and development to accelerate your learning. Our businesses are very agile so we need our people to be adaptable, resilient and comfortable working at pace in an ever-changing environment. You’ll receive plenty of support along the way but you will be required to drive your own career.

Placements will be in different locations across the UK, so you need to be flexible about where you are based and about moving during and after your scheme.

Training & Profiles

On-job, real responsibility and experiences are vital to your career success within ABF Grocery. However, we recognise that there are certain areas that as graduates you won’t necessarily have had exposure to previously. Therefore, we supplement your practical experiences throughout your scheme with training sessions designed to give you a greater understanding and some practice at developing your skillset.

Over the course of your scheme, you will participate in two streams of training:

Core Management and Functional Training

You will also attend four events throughout the course of your scheme:

  • Summer ABF Event
  • Induction
  • Mid-Programme Event
  • End of Programme Event

You will be assigned a buddy to help you get to know your new business and colleagues, and a mentor to support you throughout your graduate programme.
