2nd Line Support Engineer

Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum
Holiday: 20 days per annum (+ bank holidays)
Contract Type: Permanent (6 Month initial probation)
Working Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-6pm

Our client is seeking a motivated 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their small team and help support their portfolio of business clients remotely and on-site.

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and will be highly organised.

Our client is seeking a keen learner with the ability to grasp new technologies and procedures quickly.

They believe that every business deserves proactive, efficient and honest IT support and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their understanding of that statement.


  • To work as part of a team to provide the highest level of IT support to their clients
  • Provide remote and on-site 2nd line support
  • To assist with monitoring client networks daily, ensuring appropriate action is taken to remedy faults identified
  • To take ownership of routine checks and maintenance on client networks
  • Continual self-development to keep abreast of modern technologies
  • On-site visits to clients in EMEA and US (After probation)

Experience/Skills Required - 2nd Line Support Engineer

  • Previous experience in an IT Support role
  • The 2nd Line Support Engineer must have experince in Microsoft Windows 7, 8 and 10
  • Office 2010 onwards (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Microsoft Servers 2008 Onwards inc. Active Directory
  • Microsoft SQL 2008 Onwards
  • Thorough understanding of network fundamentals
  • Experience configuring business routers and firewalls
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • The 2nd Line Support Engineer must have attention to detail

Beneficial Skills (not essential)

Previous experience supporting executives
Office 365
Experience upgrading/replacing components in computers or laptops
