Mercury Talent are delighted to be recruiting for a IT Helpdesk support engineer covering 2nd and 3rd line support for our client a IT/Software and Hardware provider to the education and legal sectors. The company is extremely established and is a period of growth and has recently moved to its new location which has on site parking they are looking for ambitious a driven individuals.

The role of 2nd/3rd line Helpdesk support

Supporting a broad range of clients with technical enquiries regarding Network, Server, Software and Hardware Helpdesk support in the Legal and Education Market

With you excellent all round IT technical Knowledge you with take a service based approach to the Helpdesk and will work to a ticketing system as well as delight your customers with your ability to problem solve in a timely manner working to tight SLA.

About you 2nd Line 3rd Line support

You with a have fun and engaging personality

You will have demonstrable experience in working in a busy Helpdesk environment

Strong commitment to customer service

Be able to communicate technical issues to non technical customers and solve their issues

Your Technical Knowledge and skills

Excellent all-round IT-technical knowledge.

Microsoft Desktop and Server Operating systems including Windows Server 2012 R2

Supporting other Microsoft Applications including Exchange, SQL, Ms Office

Windows Server 2003/2008r2/2012r2 installation and administration

Network Topology

Active Directory design and administration including Group Policy

Network hardware of LANs and WANs including servers, switches, firewalls routers etc. HP and Cisco.

Advanced virtualisation (preferably Hyper-V)

VMWare

Linux

SAN and NAS technologies (HP preferred)

Provide solid 1st to 3rd line support (desktop and infrastructure)

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferable:

Terminal Services\Remote Desktop in 2003/2008r2/2012r2

MS System Centre

Automation in infrastructure management (Advanced PowerShell scripting)

Good knowledge with SQL.

Exchange Server & Office 365
