1st Line Support - IT Helpdesk

As an IT Technical Support Executive, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and identifying errors for customers and dealing with everything from initial contact through to resolution whilst building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. Duties

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line support (helpdesk to helpdesk usually)
  • Gathering and logging information throughout the process
  • Working to specific SLA's for customers
  • Raising and closing tickets
  • Configuring servers
  • Dealing with user, integration and database errors
  • Trouble shooting system/user issues and ensuring matters are dealt with or escalated to the relevant department
  • Deliver on-going customer support, occasional customer site visits maybe required
  • Consistently deliver a professional standard of regular verbal and written communication with customers, colleagues and suppliers.
  • Maintain a record of the timely resolution of customer issues by keeping a detailed record of the issue and the resolution
  • Build and maintain strong relationships

Required Experience:

  • IT Literate
  • Upbeat and eager to learn
  • Have some server knowledge and experience
  • Experience of working in an IT related installation and support role (desirable not essential)
  • Installation/configuration/support of server-based products and Microsoft Operating Systems (desirable but not essential)
  • Installation/configuration of IT local and/or wide area networks either for an employer or customer (desirable but not essential)
  • Deliver IT support and or training to end users in an organisation
  • Knows how to add/replace/configure/back-up/restore PC/server hardware (desirable but not essential)

To be considered for this role you need to be able to:

  • Work in a technical customer facing role
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (oral and written) in order to communicate effectively with our customers and within the Company
  • Have confidence in your ability
  • Be positive, confident and hard working with a 'Can-Do' attitude
  • Take responsibility for problems and mistakes and rectifying them accordingly
  • Prioritise workload, demonstrating good organisational and administrative skills
  • Show a methodical approach to work by developing, documenting and following procedures and seeing tasks through to completion
  • Work effectively and efficiently with minimal/no supervision
