1st Line Support Assistant

Our client is a leading manufacturer of specialised products to the marine and power industries.
An opportunity has now arisen for a 1st Line Support Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT Support Assistant who is looking for a new opportunity.
The Role:
- Install and configure client computers and network devices
- Administer the Cloud Anti-virus
- Clean up desktops and laptops
- Provide remote support so staff on-site and assist with VPN connections/drive access
- Reset passwords etc. for user accounts and computers
- Dispose of IT equipment and maintain IT assets
- Telephone system/patching
- Provide 1st line support onsite with some group tickets performed remotely
- Set up audio visual equipment and the customer WIFI connection
- Back up the tape server daily
- Log tickets on the helpdesk
- Staff IT inductions
- Monitor IT stock levels
- Perform warranty checks for hardware and upgrade when required
- Help with infrastructure moves and changes
- Work alongside Group IT for future assistance or software updates
- Install software using Software Centre
- Source and purchase IT equipment
- Apple and Samsung mobile phone support for Outlook 365
- Basic networking
- Cover absence by liaising with external contacts
- Support Manufacturing label printers/MFP’s
The Person:
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in a relevant area e.g. IT
- Office 365 and Server 2012 experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing background is desirable
- Dymo Labels/Zebra Printers (manufacturing printers)
- Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 experience
- Excellent customer service and problem solving skills
- AX 2012
