As a Call Handler you will be the first point of contact for patients, their relatives and other health care professionals. You will be trained to use the NHS Pathways system to enable you to carry out an assessment of the caller’s needs You as well as provide basic advice and health information ensuring they are directed to the most appropriate healthcare professional or service.

Successful applicants will be paid to complete a Pathways training course. Our next training course dates are 8 May & 4 June 2018

In this role you will

  • Be trained to be fully confident and proficient in the NHS Pathways system
  • Carry out an assessment of patients need
  • Ensure that patients are prioritised appropriately and directed to the right place, first time
  • Identify and safeguard appropriately any issues regarding a vulnerable child or adult
  • Share and utilise areas of knowledge and skills to enhance patient care
