One to One SEN Teaching Assistant required in Paignton area to support teenager with behavioural difficulties
Your new company
You will be working for a specialist SEN organisation who have multiple settings based around Devon. The organisation are hugely passionate about making a difference to their students, enabling them to access education and develop both socially and emotionally.
Your new role
You will be supporting a student who has been excluded from a mainstream setting, due to behavioural issues. The student may display behaviour that is volatile and can be know to use very colourful language. This student has a keen interest in IT and will be placed mainly at a local college doing his education using IT services. You will need to supervise the student when using the internet and build a positive working relationship with him in order to work effectively. The aim is to ensure steady progress and enable a smooth transition from their alternative provision to post 16 provision. The student is currently a child in care.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience working alongside students that have faced difficulties throughout their education. A positive yet resilient attitude as you will face many challenges that you may not find in a day to day school assignment. You must be able to build a relationship with the student quickly by taking an interest in their life and by showing you care about them. You will need to undergo Hays Education award winning stringent compliance process, in line with Department for Education guidelines.
