Your new company
Your new Secondary School, located in the West Lancashire area are seeking to appoint a 1:1 teaching assistant. This vacancy will initially operate on a temporary basis with a view to go permanent at the end of the academic year following a successful placements.
Your new role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be working with a KS3 pupil and be responsible for supporting and encouraging the pupil within their lessons on a 1:1 basis. Due to this, building a rapport quickly will be imperative within this role as will the ability to be empathetic whilst offering consistent reassurance. You will also be liaising with the senior members of the school faculty, providing them with key updates for the pupils individual education plan.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful within your application you will require recent and relevant experience of providing classroom based support, a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to use your own initiative. You must also harbour a genuine desire to support pupil development with previous Manual handling training and personal care experience being desirable due to the nature of the role. Teaching assistants that do not meet the above criteria but are interested in other vacancies and wish to hear about them before they are advertised should also apply to this position.
