1:1 SEND Tutor - Secondary School - Dorset
About the 1:1 SEND Tutor position:
**Temporary position due to start immediately after Easter holidays and to become a permanent position from September 2018 for the ideal SEND Tutor.
**Working with challenging individuals looking for support in participation and development.
**Support the class teacher with any other challenging behaviour.
**Some lunchtimes and after school club support needed. (pre-arranged)
**Maintaining pupil attainment and development.
To be Successful the 1:1 SEND Tutor will have/be:
**Previous experience with challenging behaviour and SEND.
**Able to work in partnership with all staff while keeping pupils engaged.
**Flexible hours with the ability to work with after school clubs and lunchtime supervisory.
**High expectations of pupil achievement, participation and development.
**Supporting students to make decisions and become independent.
**The ability to follow directed procedures and also work under own initiative.
To be Eligible the 1:1 SEND Tutor must have / be:
**Have a minimum of grade C in GCSE English and Maths or an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
**Be a flexible team player with excellent communications.
**Be able to provide two professional references that cover the last two years of employment.
**Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
**An enhanced DBS certificate that is registered with the Update Service, or be willing to complete one.
