1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants required for a part time role in Welford.

Your new company

You will be working within a small village primary in a village on the border of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. They are a community based church of England primary school whose ethos is 'Living and Learning together, Celebrating life in all its fullness.' They serve surrounding villages and enjoy community activities.

Your new role

You will be expected to work mornings supporting a reception child with ASD. The child is non verbal and a Picture Exchange Communication System will be in use. You will be expected to support him with focus, understanding and with managing his behaviour, although no behavioural challenges present.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful you will need to be Level 2 or 3 qualified, or qualified by experience, and have experience with working on a 1:1 basis with an SEN child. Experience using PECS is ideal but not a necessity.

You will also need to undergo the Hays Compliance process including DBS check and satisfactory DfE references.
