Description
What’s covered in this workshop?
This workshop will focus on the best practices for gaining personal power, enhancing your persuasiveness, and building cooperation, for achieving results in situations where there is lack of authority. Some topics we will explore, include projecting confidence and credibility,
developing effective persuasion techniques, using critical communication tools and adapting your style to the person or situation you are dealing with.
What exactly do we mean when we say “influencing without authority”?
Influencing without authority is the ability to influence others without having any power over them. You don’t have to be the CEO, investor, or even the most senior person in the room to have influence. Relational skills such as deep listening, effective assertion, and self-awareness are all tools you can use to influence people around you in an authentic way.
Why is learning to influence without authority a good skill to learn?
Influencing without authority is an important skill for any leader. Whether you are a team lead, the manager of a cross-functional team, founding a startup, or overseeing projects and resources, the ability to influence without authority can help you get buy-in from key stakeholders, improve collaboration within your organisation, and boost your career.
Leading without authority can improve collaboration. Managing without authority is not about enhancing personal power or self-promotion. It’s using a particular set of skills to get things done with others when you have no direct authority over them. Some of the world’s biggest achievements have only been possible through leading without authority, such as the creation of Google Maps.
Requirements
All you need is an internet connection and a device, such as a smart phone, tablet, laptop or PC, and an internet connection. We recommend you access it using either a laptop or desktop computer through Google Chrome.
