Description
In this working with babies course, you will learn about the importance of training when it comes to understanding and working with babies. You will study how babies develop and the importance of milestones and forming relationships.
You will explore the physical needs that are unique to babies, such as feeding, weaning, tummy time and changing; learning how to care for a baby so that they are properly attended to.
You will also learn how to encourage learning and the development of motor skills through different techniques and activities.
Finally, you will learn how to effectively communicate with the parents and carers of babies, as well as the babies themselves.
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.
Units covered
- Unit 1 – Introduction to Working with Babies – In the first unit of the working with babies course you will explore how vital routines are in a baby’s day and the developmental milestones of infants and the best ways of building relationships with babies in your care.
- Unit 2 – Physical Care – This unit will cover the basic needs of a baby, such as feeding, changing and sleeping routines and how to respond to a baby’s physical and emotional cues. You will also learn how to ensure a safe and healthy environment for a baby.
- Unit 3 – How Babies Learn – In this unit you will explore the relevance of the EYFS and the stages of sensory development in babies, you will also explore the different types of play which help promote babies learning and development.
- Unit 4 – Effective Communication with Babies – In the final unit of the working with babies course you will explore the importance of effective communication with parents and guardians and how to establish strong bonds with babies, you will also explore strategies for communicating with babies who are deaf or blind.
