The Understanding Consent Course has been specifically developed for individuals involved in the care sector, including staff, supervisors, and managers. Its primary aim is to provide essential knowledge that enables professionals to approach consent in a highly proficient manner within the health and social care field.

This comprehensive program of study is designed to complement practical work by establishing a strong theoretical foundation. By delving into the theoretical aspects, participants can effectively align their practice with the principles of consent. The course also facilitates an exploration of how consent influences various areas of professional practice.

The course is structured into five core modules, each focusing on a specific aspect of understanding consent. Successful completion of all five modules is required to obtain the certification, ensuring learners have acquired a well-rounded understanding of consent within the care sector.

Module 1:– An introduction to the term Consent
Module 2:– Legislation impacting on Consent and informed decision-making
Module 3:– Effective communication in relation to Consent
Module 4:– How does failure to gain Consent become a safeguarding issue?
Module 5:– Gaining Consent

Assessment

The Certificate of Achievement from Quality Licence Scheme is gained by successfully completing a series of assignments. Your personal tutor will review, mark and provide you with feedback on your work.

Certification

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).

The course has been endorsed under the Quality Licence Scheme. This means that NCC Home Learning has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet defined quality criteria. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained. The Learner Unit Summary may be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this subject. To this end the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at QLS Level 2 against level descriptors published by Ofqual, to indicate the depth of study and level of demand/complexity involved in successful completion by the learner.
