Course aims
This online Understanding Autism – Level 2 training course aims to increase awareness and understanding of autism, to enable frontline care workers to better recognise and respond to the needs of autistic people. Health and social care managers can use resources in this course for induction, supervision and ongoing learning and development, to develop the skills of their staff.

What is Autism?
Autism is a developmental disorder of variable severity that is characterised by difficulty in social interaction and communication and by restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behaviour.
Autism is a complex neurobehavioral condition that includes impairments in social interaction and developmental language and communication skills combined with rigid, repetitive behaviours. Because of the range of symptoms, this condition is now called autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Why is this online Understanding Autism training important?
