Overview

The Understanding and Supporting Autism course is a nationally recognised study programme which has been designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working with Autism.

Description

The course is comprised of 12 topics where you will learn about understanding and supporting Autism.

  4. Asperger’s Syndrome and High Functioning Autism
  5. History of Autism
  6. Behavioural Patterns of a Person with Autism

  8. Social Communication
  9. Social Interaction
  10. Social Imagination
  11. Sensory Processing
  12. Diagnosing Autism

The course will take approximately 6 hours to complete. Students will receive a full year to complete the course, which is a lot more time than you will need. This allows you to work at your own pace, without the pressure of tight deadlines.

You will study this course by distance learning, which will enable you to learn when and where you want. All of the materials will be available to you online on our online learning platform. You will also receive tutor support by email.

The online learning platform is designed to make your learning time as effective and constructive as possible. It is also designed to accommodate students who find on-site training hard to access and you can fit it around other commitments such as your family, job and holidays.

At the end of the course successful learners will receive a Certificate from the CPD Certification Service. The CPD Certification Service is the independent CPD accreditation centre working across all sectors, disciplines and further learning applications.

Requirements
