Description

Unconscious bias is a term used to describe the associations that we hold which, despite being outside our conscious awareness, can have a significant influence on our attitudes and behaviours especially towards other people.

In this course you will gain knowledge on what biases we may have and how these biases may impact our own life and also the lives of others.

You will gain insight into the different types of unconscious bias, case studies and examples of unconscious bias. The types of bias you will cover include – ageism bias, gender bias, name bias, race/colour/culture bias, characteristic bias, confirmation bias, attribution bias, affinity bias, beauty bias and horns and halo effect bias.

You will then examine how unconscious bias impacts the workplace and strategies to mitigate bias in the recruitment, you will then gain awareness on how to recognise and control unconscious bias in the workplace.

By the end of the course you will have gained a greater insight into unconscious bias and how to manage it in the workplace.

In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.

You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for two years.
