Train the Trainer

Roughly defined, training is the process of teaching a person or a group of people to do something new, or do something better. For the professional trainer, however, there’s far more to effective and efficient training than this. Professional trainers play an important role in the nurturing, development and enhancement of skills and abilities at all levels. Both for the benefit of the candidates they train and the businesses they work for, trainers inspire others to explore and fulfil their untapped potential. An effective trainer has the capacity and the confidence to help candidates achieve even the most ambitious objectives. Nevertheless, it takes a special kind of professional to engage, inform and ultimately inspire candidates to reach for the stars. For those who make it, the field of professional training can be fulfilling and financially-rewarding in equal measures.

Effective training is about so much more than presenting candidates with new ideas and expecting them to respond accordingly. The effective trainer is an engaging and inspirational leadership figure - one who naturally instils a sense of trust and respect among delegates. Weather training a single individual or dozens of candidates in a workshop setting, every delegate should take something invaluable away from each session. This course details the skills and techniques required to ensure this is the case.

Over the course of 20 insightful modules, learners are presented with a breakdown of the effective training and coaching process. The importance of proactive stress management and conflict management is discussed, along with the trainer’s role as a clear and confident communicator. Ultimately, candidates learn how to plan and host engaging and inspiring training sessions, where every delegate leaves richer for the experience.

Upon successful completion of this course, candidates take away the most essential industry-specific skills, talents and knowledge including:

  • The ability to identify the unique needs of trainees

FAQs

What does study method mean?

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At reed.co.uk courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

What are CPD hours/points?

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on reed.co.uk, many of which can be completed online.

What is a ‘regulated qualification’?

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

What is an ‘endorsed’ course?

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body’s logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as ABC Awards and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
