Description

This course is approved by TQUK and has been designed for those who want to work in a management position within the health & social care sector, specialising in residential and nursing home care for adults. The purpose of the TQUK Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (England) is to develop the knowledge and skills required by managers and leaders. CQC requires a Registered Manager to meet the following criteria:

How can you demonstrate you have the necessary qualifications, competence, skills and expertise. This new level 5 course has been re-designed in line with skills for care and CQC requirements to empower Registered Managers with the necessary knowledge to run an effective, safe, responsive, caring and well-led service.

Gina asked:

If you have. A BTEC level 5 hnd diploma in health and Social care do you still have to undertake this course for the role of registered manager

Answer:

Yes as the BTEC is just like an introductory course to this one. This is the full qualification required by CQC for Registered Managers

This was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.

Eiran asked:

Why do you claim that you must have this qualification to be a registered manager when this is untrue?

Answer:

CQC requires Registered Manager to be competent, which is through experience both in management and care or through the qualification. I am a CQC registered Manager and as part of my interview I had to demonstrate my knowledge and competence and this qualification was evidence they required from me. I deliver apprenticeship and one of my learners has been placed on this course by her work place because she’s applying to be a CQC registered Manager. This qualification testified to knowledge.

FAQs

What does study method mean?

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At reed.co.uk courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

What are CPD hours/points?

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on reed.co.uk, many of which can be completed online.

What is a ‘regulated qualification’?

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

What is an ‘endorsed’ course?

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body’s logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as ABC Awards and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
