Description
Telecommunications Engineering Foundations Level 3 consists of six structured lectures, followed by an assessment and final exam, each addressing a key area of modern telecommunications engineering.
Lecture one introduces advanced principles of telecommunications, including digital signal processing, modulation techniques, error correction, data compression, multiple access methods, and emerging industry trends.
Lecture two focuses on network protocols and architectures, exploring the TCP/IP protocol suite, quality of service (QoS), network segmentation, security and encryption, and next-generation network architectures such as 5G and beyond.
Lecture three examines wireless communication systems, covering cellular technologies, antenna fundamentals, wireless network planning, mobile edge computing, IoT connectivity, and real-world deployment case studies.
Lecture four explores optical fibre communications, introducing fibre optic principles, components, wavelength division multiplexing, fibre network design, troubleshooting concepts, and future developments in optical communications.
Lecture five addresses telecommunication network management, including network monitoring, fault management, configuration control, scalability, capacity planning, and an introduction to software-defined networking (SDN).
Lecture six brings together course concepts through advanced telecommunications projects, focusing on system design, implementation considerations, troubleshooting methodologies, and structured project presentation.
An assessment and final exam evaluate learners’ understanding of telecommunications concepts, network systems, communication technologies, and engineering principles covered throughout the course.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the Telecommunications Engineering Foundations Level 3 course, learners receive a free digital certificate of completion. A provider-issued certificate is available following verification, with optional premium certificates and academic transcripts offered separately.
