Overview
The TQUK Level 3 Teaching Assistant (RQF) qualification courses are whats required when working in either a Primary or Secondary school. The Teaching Assistant (RQF) qualification is a mandatory requirement in order for you to become a qualified Teaching Assistant within a primary or secondary school.
This TQUK Level 3 (RQF) Teaching Assistant qualification will enable you to study and gain the necessary skills in order to support children within the classroom setting as either a Classroom Assistant or Teaching Assistant. You will be responsible for supporting the classroom teacher on a daily basis along with supporting the children.
Description
The role of a Teaching Assistant is used in over 90% of schools across the UK and plays a vital part in the everyday running of the school.
This teaching assistant course will teach you the main role and responsibility of how to work with children in small groups and on a one to one basis.
The teaching assistant will be responsible for contributing in the following areas:
- supporting the teacher
- supporting the pupil
- supporting the curriculum
- supporting the school
The units covered are as follows:
Unit 1 – Understand child and young person development
Unit 2 – Understand how to Safeguard the Well-being of Children and Young People
Unit 3 – Communication and Professional Relationships with Children, Young People and Adults
Unit 4 – Schools as Organisations
Assessment
Assessments are a great way of checking your progress allowing you to apply your learning to real-world situations. Through the Teaching Assistant Level 3 Course , you will be assessed by a series of written assignments, which are submitted to and marked by your tutor.
All assignments are set by The Learning College. Upon verification of the activities, exercises and assignments, a certificate of achievement will be awarded by the TQUK, as confirmation that your written work has met all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the course.
Please note: There is no examination required for this course.
What’s included:
You will have access to a tutor, via email, who will mark your work and guide you through the course to help you prepare for your assignments. You will be provided with all course materials along with ‘Podcast’ lessons in order to be guided through your course content. The podcast lessons enable you to watch your tutor and hear your tutor as you complete each unit. Full tutor support is offered throughout the course to ensure your learning outcomes are met to a satisfactory standard.
Study Time
Study Hours are an approximate figure and are dependent upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. You should allow enough time to complete assignments/ question papers to ensure satisfactory outcomes are met.
The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is 80 hours
A final payment of £240.00 is payable upon submission of your work for feedback along with your certification fee which is payable to the Awarding body.

Requirements
- Learners will need sufficient numeracy and literacy
- Students should have access to a computer and the internet throughout your study period.
- Learners should have basic PC skills in order to navigate our Support Portal
- You should be fully committed to your studies.
- Must be aged 16 and over
NO previous Teaching Assistant experience is necessary to study this qualification.
