The T'ai Chi Diploma Course begins by introducing students to the course itself; explaining the course layout and the learning outcomes of each Module. This continues by showing students the best way to study the course, with a guide to maximising your time and understanding of the contents.

Commonly understood to be a form of exercise and a martial art the 1st Module of the course gives students an overview of Tai Chi itself, broadening learner's understanding of what it is, its purpose, history, and the four main styles within the practice.

T'ai Chi is unique in what it offers practitioners. The 2nd Module of the course explains the physical and psychological health benefits that this extremely accessible martial art provides.

T'ai Chi is about more than the physical aspects of the practice, Module 3 of the Tai Chi Diploma Course explains the philosophy and principles of Taoism, which are embedded into this martial art, and whose understanding will ensure students gain even more from T'ai Chi. The Module explains concepts that are fundamental to Taoism, such as: Wu Wei, Yin and Yang, The Five Elements, Chi, and, Meridians, along with the importance of direction when practicing Tai Chi.

An area that many who are new to Tai Chi and related practices may not be familiar with, Qigong is an even older form of energy practice and is often used alongside Tai Chi. Module 4 explains what Qigong is, and how and why it is used.

There are 10 principles that are followed, no matter which form of T'ai Chi someone follows. The 5th Module of the Tai Chi Diploma Course identifies these 10 principles and explains what each are and the part they play within Tai Chi.

Getting into the practice proper, the 6th Module describes and illustrates the basic stances and arm and hand postures used in Tai Chi. Module 7 complements this well, explaining how to get ready to practice. This provides answers to the questions of: where you should practice, what you should wear, and the ideal places to practice. This Module also provides a simple, illustrated warm-up that can be done before practicing Tai Chi.

The 8th Module of the Tai Chi Diploma Course fully explains and illustrates how to practice the 21 figures of the Beijing Short Form (also known as the Peking Form) of Tai Chi, which will be used as your practice.

Once you have got to grips with the basics stances and Beijing Short Form explained in this course, you may wish to take your Tai Chi practice further, and the next step for this would be to find a Tai Chi class. Module 9 informs students of the benefits of taking a class, the types of classes that can be followed, where to find them, and how to ensure you get a good, reputable teacher. This Module also includes information that will be useful to those who really take to Tai Chi and are considering teaching and setting up a business.

Also included with the Tai Chi Diploma Course is a resource list of useful websites and links to videos.
