Description

The Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools is aimed at learners who are working or who plan to work in any type of education setting, whether this is primary, middle or secondary school.

This is a knowledge-based qualification suitable for all support staff roles in schools, including site staff, administrators etc. as well as those who work directly with children and young people. It seeks to develop the knowledge and understanding that all those working in a school setting will need and covers areas such as safeguarding, communication and understanding the school context.

As it's a knowledge-based qualification, it can be taken by learners not yet employed in a school, as well as providing initial training/induction for those new in post.

During the course you will develop your skills and experience in a number of areas, and you will need to think about how this theory will fit in with your experience in school. Once you have completed the course you can then use the experience and knowledge gained as useful reference when working with children and young people.

This Level 2 qualification is made up of a number of different units of assessment which sit within the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework).

To be awarded the TDUK Award in Support Work in Schools, learners are required to successfully complete all five units and gain the required number of credits.

Unit 1: Child and young person development

Unit 2: Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people

Unit 3: Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults

Unit 4: Equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people

Unit 5: Schools as organisations
