Overview
Store management utilises a certain system or process to manage the goods that being delivered, goods for safekeeping, disposal of goods that are undesirable, its inventory and record maintenance. Following a certain process ensures efficiency and prevents goods from being undesirable whilst increasing profitability and managing stocks.
The role of a store manager is to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials, prevent overstocking as well as minimise storage costs, maximise outputs and exceed targets.

At the end of this course, students shall learn how to:
(1) understand the definition of store management;
(2) comprehend stores system and procedures;
(3) site a store or dockyard;
(4) be familiar with layout of buildings;
(5) understand stock records;
(6) comprehend financial control of stock;
(7) gain knowledge about the relationships between production, construction and service organizations;
(8) be aware of the location of stock and
(9) understand costing.
To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.
Store managers have to be forward thinking to improve store performance, to drive sales, to influence and manage people towards exceeding targets, and to drive best practices in all aspects of the store.
