Description

This Diploma covers events from the Industrial Revolution to the Labour Party Victory in the 1990s. This is the journey of gender and class struggles, the Victorians and their attitudes to society and crime. Social life, the economy, the way we worked, lived and socialised have all changed dramatically. Learn how we used to treat those most vulnerable in society or how political pioneers were to bring about radical changes and reform.

This Diploma explores British society and perfectly complements the Level 3 Sociology Diploma providing a historical context to some of the key issues being debated today, such as - do we need an overhaul of the political system? Can the NHS cope with demand? Should people have to pay for education? And does putting criminals in prison actually work? Knowledge of key events of the past helps us to gain a better understanding of the present and how best to approach the future.
