Overview

This CCTV Operator course is ideal for anyone wishing to work as a CCTV operative as it provides them with the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for an SIA licence in this field. It has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). Subjects covered include roles and responsibilities of CCTV operators, codes of practice, operational procedures and guidelines, CCTV equipment and operation and surveillance techniques. It covers those areas of content that are common across different sub-sectors at Level 2: Door Supervision, Security Guarding, CCTV Operations, Vehicle Immobilisation; and Cash and Valuables in Transit.

Description

This CCTV Operator (Public Surveillance) course is designed for those learners wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a CCTV operator in public space surveillance.

It is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications and is supported by Skills for Security, the standards setting body for the security industry and the SIA, who regulate the private security industry.

Obtaining the level 2 CCTV Training qualification is the first step towards getting an SIA Licence. If you are looking to work as a CCTV operator, this is the right qualification for you.

CCTV is more of a dual role and a lot of employers want people to hold a door supervisor badge as well.

I have first aids at work and sia badge do I need to do all the modules? Apart from cctv module.

Answer:

If you have the Door Supervisor certificate you will not need to do the first module on the CCTV course. However you do need to provide proof of the certificate to be able to do so.
