Description
In this sexual harassment in the workplace course, you will be introduced to different forms of sexual harassment, and study the impact of sexual harassment in the workplace. This course does not wholly address cases of sexual harassment outside of the workplace.
You will also examine different examples of sexual harassment in workplace settings, learning how to identify, prevent and process cases of sexual harassment in the workplace and look at relevant legislation and policies in the UK which involve how to make complaints about sexual harassment, and the legal duties of employers.
Finally, you will study how to create a positive workplace culture and reduce the risk of sexual harassment, and support staff who have been sexually harassed.
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.
You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for two years.

Units covered
- Unit 1 – Introduction to Sexual Harassment – In the first unit you will explore why it is important to understand how to spot and prevent sexual harassment within a workplace setting, as well as the physical, mental emotional and financial impacts of sexual harassment. You will finish the first unit by exploring how to dispel common stereotypes concerning sexual harassment in the workplace.
- Unit 2 – Environments and types of sexual harassment – In this unit you will cover the different behaviours that are classed as sexual harassment and the different environments in which they could occur. You will also look at examples of sexual harassment in the workplace and guidance on how to recognise when sexual harassment has taken place.
- Unit 3 – Legislation, Policies and Procedures – In this unit, you will cover the legislation, guidance, policies and procedures that are relevant to sexual harassment in the workplace. Including guidance on how to make a complaint about someone who has sexually harassed you in the workplace and reporting the sexual harassment of someone else. You will also consider the legal duties and requirements of companies and organisations.
- Unit 4 – Creating positive workplace cultures and support – In the final unit, you will examine the importance of positive cultures in the workplace and how this can contribute to a safer working environment. You will look at recommendations for raising awareness of sexual harassment in the workplace. You will finish the unit by looking at how to support yourself or someone else who has been sexually harassed.
