Description
We will cover the steps that can be taken, starting from screening, leading all the way up to rehabilitation and support after recovery. You will also be provided with useful resources.
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.
You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for two years.
Units covered
- Unit 1 – Introduction to Sepsis - In the first unit we will cover what sepsis actually is and the causes of it, along with the parts of the body that can be affected.
- Unit 2 – Types of Sepsis - In this unit we look at the different types of sepsis along with the signs to look out for. You will also learn about ongoing consequences for some survivors of sepsis.
- Unit 3 – Sepsis in Children - In the third unit we will cover how sepsis can affect children and the risk factors with it. We will also learn about treatment for them across all ages.
- Unit 4 – Diagnosis, Treatment and Management of Sepsis - In the final unit we will focus on the diagnosis of sepsis and the pathway of steps to take in order to receive appropriate care. You will also learn about rehabilitation and returning to work after recovery, along with support for family.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for anyone who would like to gain more knowledge and understanding of sepsis. Since this is a condition that can affect people of any age and at any time of life. It is therefore important that people are aware of the signs and symptoms so that they can identify them within themselves and others.
Requirements
You are required to complete a 30 question multiple choice quiz at the end of the course. Where you need to achieve at least 80% or above to pass. You can complete the quiz as many times as you need to pass.
