The course is suitable for teachers from a primary, secondary or special school, or lecturers from a further education or higher education setting. Also if you are a social worker or police officer, or if you work with young offenders or other caring professions. The programme covers the key issues related to special educational needs, and will develop your professional awareness of this area. You will experience a course that caters for both academic and practitioner driven interest in special educational needs.

There is a wide range of specialist modules to choose from, providing the opportunity to have a postgraduate course specifically tailored to meet your individual professional needs. The course is also compatible with the TTA SENCo standards, and has been designed to provide continuous professional, academic and personal development.

Requirements:

A good Honours degree is preferred but experience is greatly valued. Applicants require a current enhanced DBS check or its EU equivalent. If English is not your native language you should be able to demonstrate a level of at least IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (minimum score of 5.5 in each band).

Assessment Methods:

Modules are normally assessed by a written assignment of 5,000 words.
