Every human has a right to be treated in a fair and just manner, with respect. It is not a complicated or too challenging idea, but it is one that people should understand and agree with, regardless of who they are. But, unfortunately, it often feels like this fundamental right is being taken away from people in today's world.
Safeguarding children is not a new concept. Society has been trying to protect its youngest members from harm for centuries. It exposes fundamental values, rights, duties and obligations that transcend time and cultures. The welfare of society's most vulnerable members should be the principal concern for everyone because there can be no future or prosperity without them.
Therefore, guidelines, policies, and procedures must be followed to ensure everyone in society can live to their full potential without abuse. In this Safeguarding Children course, you will learn what is meant by safeguarding children and why it is the responsibility of all in society.
