Description
Reading Arabic for Beginners (Tajweed) presents a structured introduction to the linguistic and phonetic rules that support accurate reading of Arabic text. The course begins with a clear explanation of the Arabic alphabet and vowel signs, enabling learners to recognise letters and understand how sound patterns are formed.
As learners progress, the course explores phonetic principles that influence pronunciation, including the distinction between heavy letters (tafkheem) and light letters (tarqeeq). These elements help learners recognise how sound quality changes across different Arabic letters.
Further modules focus on important recitation features such as Qalqalah, Ghunnah, and the elongation letters known as Huroof ul Maddah and Huroof ul Leen. Learners also study stopping signs used in Arabic script and examine the rules of waqaf to understand where pauses should occur.
Additional focus is given to reading rules connected to Alif Al Maqsurah and other structural elements that frequently appear in Arabic writing. The course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles required for developing accurate Arabic reading ability.
