This Psychology Fundamentals and Behavioural Awareness course consists of six structured lectures, followed by a final assessment, each addressing a core area of psychological knowledge and behavioural understanding.
The course begins with perspectives in psychology, introducing major psychological approaches such as biological, cognitive, behavioural, and social perspectives. Learners explore how these perspectives contribute to understanding behaviour and mental processes.
Social psychology examines how individuals are influenced by social contexts, including group behaviour, social interaction, attitudes, and social influence. Cognitive psychology and its applications explore mental processes such as perception, memory, thinking, and problem-solving, alongside real-world applications of cognitive theory.
Child development focuses on psychological development across childhood, examining cognitive, emotional, and social growth during early life stages. Learners gain awareness of developmental milestones and influencing factors.
The psychology of atypical (abnormal) behaviour introduces concepts related to psychological differences, behavioural variation, and mental health awareness. This section is presented in an educational and non-diagnostic manner, focusing on understanding rather than classification or treatment.
Research methods introduce basic psychological research approaches, including observation, experiments, surveys, and ethical considerations. Learners develop awareness of how psychological knowledge is generated and evaluated.
Upon successful completion of the Psychology Fundamentals and Behavioural Awareness course, learners will receive a free digital certificate provided by Reed confirming course completion.
