Our Story: Over 30 Years of Progress, Purpose, and Protection

At SHEilds, we’ve always believed that health and safety training should be more than a box-ticking exercise. It should be accessible, effective, and empowering no matter where you are in the world.

We started out in the UK in 2002, initially as a health and safety training provider. But it didn’t take long before we saw a bigger opportunity: to transform how training is delivered. By 2005, we became the first organisation globally to offer NEBOSH accredited qualifications fully online as we pioneered the first eLearning systems, making high-quality safety training more flexible and future-ready. This is when we launched our first generation Anytime, Anywhere learning, which we still keep in our company ethos.

As we grew, we partnered with the industry’s most respected awarding bodies, including:

• NEBOSH
• IOSH
• IEMA
• ProQual

This allowed us to build a truly comprehensive suite of courses, from entry-level certificates to advanced diplomas and competency-based NVQs, covering everything from occupational safety to environmental and risk management.

In 2006 we expanded to the middle east and opened up our UAE office, and in 2012 we opened our South Africa office. These regions became key hubs for us, helping us support thousands of professionals across sectors such as construction, oil and gas, and heavy industry.

Over the years, our commitment has remained the same: to put learners first. That means:
