Monitoring and Controlling
This phase checks for any deviation or anomalies occurring during the execution of the project. The comparison is made based on the plan and its desired outputs for each process step. If there are any potential bottlenecks foreseen or any bottleneck identified during execution, remedial or corrective and preventive actions are undertaken to bring the situation under control and as per the design in the project plan. Audits and regular inspections are actions that are undertaken for the processes managed towards project objectives.
In this stage, all the process implementation and changes are finalized, and the project ceases to exist as the project objective is now reached. The closing includes finalization on the documentation and the archiving of the files and necessary guidelines for the project’s implementation.
