I like the flexibility of them, as I have two small children, so I fit the learning in around them with no worries of child care. • It was with some trepidation that I agreed to study some short courses online. I tend to use the Internet for e-mail and social networking, so the idea of actually having to sit down in front of a computer and learn something was a bit of a strange one! Perhaps surprisingly, I found it to be a lot of fun! You can’t sit in a classroom in your pyjamas with a mug of coffee but you can sit in front of your computer however and whenever you want. So it means you can work around your other commitments and you can do as little or as much as you want at a time.
