Description

In accordance with LAA requirements, police station representatives must complete a minimum of 6 hours of CPD dealing with relevant updates on police station practice and procedure each year in order to maintain their accreditation.

Aimed at accredited police station representatives and those currently in the process of completing the Police Station Representatives Accreditation Scheme (PSRAS), this series of 6 1-hour webinars will provide viewers with an overview of some important everyday dilemmas which they are likely to encounter whilst at the police station.

Delivered by barrister, former duty solicitor and experienced lecturer Colin Beaumont, this course is essential for anyone embarking upon advising suspects at the police station and will discuss the following topics in detail:

  • Issues relating to samples
  • The level of disclosure required prior to an interview taking place
  • The position on fingerprints/photographs/footwear impressions
  • Advising on sexual offences at an early stage in the investigation
  • Searches of the person and searches of property
  • The ‘rights’ of the legal adviser at the police station
