Description

This course offers a practical discussion of the factors to consider when advising suspects at the Police Station where part of the evidence gathering process involves forensics.

Offering an easily digestible approach to Police Station problems such as when consent is and is not required, this session will be invaluable to practitioners having to advise on difficult issues at an early stage in the investigation.

Consideration will be given to voice recognition and facial recognition/identification issues, the retention or destruction of biometric material, the circumstances in which a person can be tested for the presence of Class A drugs and the client’s rights when the police want to take fingerprints.

In addition, lecturer Colin Beaumont will offer guidance on how to provide the best advice possible advice to the client and will ensure that viewers appreciate the importance of a full consideration of forensic matters prior to interview.
