The course will cover key features such as learning the roles and responsibilities in education and training, understanding assessment in education and training and learning inclusive approaches in education and training. The Pearson BTEC Level 3 and 4 Award in Education and Training (formally PTTLS) is designed on what it takes to be a teacher or trainer, and the teaching strategies that can be employed in these roles. Achieving the Award for Level 3 and 4 will give learners the necessary skills to prepare, plan and deliver basic teaching and learning sessions in teaching and training contexts.

Methods of assessment:

This course is assessed by written assignment, learners must complete several written assignments and teaching sessions, which can be submitted on recorded video (the number of written/practical assignments you will need to complete depends upon which optional units you choose). All assignments must be submitted to the online portal within six months of the course start.

Additionally, you need to pay £699(Inc. VAT) for assessment, observation and certificate fee on submission of assessments or prior to undertaking teacher observations. The fee for Scotland and Ireland varies.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of this course will be awarded a Pearson BTEC Level 3 Award in Education and Training and Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training Certificates.

Learners will need to be over the age of 19, and must demonstrate the following:

• Vocational or academic qualification at Level 3 or higher
• Basic level of literacy, numeracy and ICT ability
