The qualification is designed to be completed over one academic year of full-time study. However, we accommodate for completely flexible delivery, so that students can schedule their learning around other commitments such as work or family. The qualification is delivered online through our Virtual Learning Environment.

All units within this course are internally verified by our assessors and externally verified by OTHM. This course is criterion-referenced, based on specific learning outcomes. To achieve a “PASS” for a unit, a student must complete the learning outcomes to meet the assessment criteria set by OTHM.

The Level 5 OTHM qualification presents practical skills, knowledge, competences, and capabilities that are comparable in academic terms as being equivalent to Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Certificates (HNC).

Successful completion of this course enables the learners to get direct entry into OTHM Level 6 Diplomas, including the Level 6 Diploma in Business Management. As this Diploma is regulated and approved by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulations), Learners can get direct entry into the final year of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programs at Arden University, University of Sunderland, London Graduate School, Coventry University, Concordia University Chicago, and University of Portsmouth.

This course is for learners who either have experience in business management or have related qualifications. This course will teach learners key business management techniques and also offers progression opportunities to higher levels of study.

For entry into this course, learners must meet the following criteria:

• The student should have a relevant GCE/GCSE or NQF/QCF/RFQ Level 4 Diploma/Award or equivalent qualification or, for learners who are 21 or older, management experience.
• The student must be 18 or older at the time of enrollment.

English Language Requirements:

Learners are expected to have English language proficiency of CEFR Level B2. This can be shown in the following ways:

1. Being a native English speaker.
2. Heaving achieved IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.
3. Having done your last two years of schooling in English.
4. Passing the free English language test on our website.

Successful completion of the Level 5 Diploma in Business Management allows learners to continue to the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Business Management.

By achieving this qualification, Ofqual recognises that learners can proceed directly into the final year of various three-year Bachelor's degree programmes at UK Universities.
