With a cpd certificate in electrical and electronic engineering from Liverpool university and jib/ecs card as a electrical labourer what can I do?
Hi, You must have the 17th edition to work as an electrician to current legislation Regards TerryThis was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
What would i be quilified ro do with this xourse if anything. Also what would i need to do to be quilified for fitting lights, adding in sockets ect..
Hi This course is the legal requirement for a qualified electrician, it means you know what you are doing in terms of the equipment and method of fixing etc. It does not make you a qualified electrician only the first stage, To be able to sign off your work you would need another qualification called inspection and testing but you cant do that until you have passed the regulations course TerryThis was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
Does this, or can it include the 18th Edition Course within the basic electrical qualification?
Hi Robert, No not yet the 18th is not available until early July after the regs books have been published. The 17th edition is however valid for 5 years if taken before January 2019 when the new regs are legally required. you could always do the 17th and then update before the 5 year deadline with a short update course. It is also much cheaper than the 18th edition will be in July Regards TerryThis was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
I servicing trains. in order to progress to the next level, I need some form of basic certification on electrical systems/diagrams will this help ?
Hi Steve, You should have the 17th edition and probably the 2392-10 inspection and testing course. Both are available through me and the 17th is all online and the 2392-10 can be 2/3rd online but does have a practical element to it. Regards Terry CroweThis was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
If I am a certified and experienced electrician from another country, do I need to start from scratch in the UK or should I use this course instead?
Hi Esther, You will need the 17th edition in the UK but your qualifications should be transferable depending upon the country agreement the Uk awarding body has. Each awarding body has a mapping of the skill sets required. City and Guilds qualifications such as 2382-15 are accepted everywhere in the world. Regards TerryThis was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.

Hi. I haven't any experience in electrical industry. Can I get some advice about what course I should take first? Thanks
Hi, It depends upon what you want from the industry. If you want to be an electrician you will need practical experience, theoretical experience and testing experience. The first course you would have to have is the Wiring Regs 17th edition, this would be followed by an inspection course 2394 and then join a competence person scheme Part P. But you must have a level of practical experience to understand the theory part of it, I do not know your experience to be able to judge this element TerryThis was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
