Overview

Due to the restrictions imposed by HM Government regarding the COVID-19 situation, classroom based Driver CPC training is currently suspended.

Recognizing that drivers still require CPC training, the DVSA has given Newcroft Training authorization to carry out Driver CPC training online via webinar sessions.

Newcroft Training has been an Approved Driver CPC centre, delivering Driver CPC Training for many years, we are established in Essex from our 25 years as a Limited Company. Description

These 35 hours can be taken in 5 lots of 7 hour instalments (e.g. 7 hours each year) or in one solid block (35 hours over 5 days). Newcroft Training also has a JAUPT accreditation and will certify your attendance for every 7 hours taken there are 35 hours to complete, once completed, you will receive your Drivers Qualification Card from the DVSA.

Who is this course for?

All drivers with an HGV/PCV license must commit 35 hours of classroom training within 5 years. This is an EU requirement (EU Directive 2003/59).

35 Hours CPC is not an initial CPC.

Grandfather Rights
So you passed your category B car test prior to January 1st 1997. This means that you have acquired rights more commonly known as grandfather rights. ... To do so you must either undergo 5 days periodic CPC course (CPC 35 Hours) or pass a CPC Module 2 & Module 4 Test (Initial CPC)

Answer:

No this is for a driver's 5 years CPC renewal or if you have 'grandfather rights' to drive up to 7.5 tonne vehicle commercially. You require a MOD 2 CPC case study exam and a MOD 4 practical exam.

If you are looking to drive up to 7.5 tonne commercially you require 35 hours CPC. This course does not have to be on consecutive days, once purchased you choose dates available.

Please check GOV website if you have provisional entitlement for Class 2. You may require a medical and initial CPC for Class 2.

35 Hours allows you to drive up 7.5 tonnes commercially if you have grandfather rights. If you have not applied for your card you will need a D777B (DL) form.

If in 2014 you completed a MOD 2 case study & MOD 4 test then yes your 35 hours would be due. If not then you have not obtained your initial CPC and should not be driving commercially.

You can pick and choose your days, Jaupt have not set a date for classroom training as of yet. So please be aware that the online class could be reverted to the classroom in 5 weeks' time.

f you’re a large goods vehicle driver and you gained your license prior to 10th September 2009, then you have Grandfather/acquired rights. This applies to Cat C, C1, C+E, and C1+E licenses. You require 35 Hours to drive commercialy.

Once the course is purchased you will receive links to book yourself in. We are using the application ZOOM so you will need a smartphone or laptop. On the day you will need to on the ZOOM call by 8AM.

FAQs

What does study method mean?

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At reed.co.uk courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

What are CPD hours/points?

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on reed.co.uk, many of which can be completed online.

What is a ‘regulated qualification’?

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

What is an ‘endorsed’ course?

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body’s logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as ABC Awards and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
